Question / Help OBS Studio Glitches when recording

So, a bit of story. I use OBS to record D&D sessions through Discord and recently decided to use MP4 (previously used MKV and decided to go against the warnings) and got a corrupt file. After days of toiling and getting a few linux friends to help we managed to recover the file using the untrunc process. After that, OBS Studio has decided it hates me. On occasion, normally when a D&D session begins, when I hit record OBS will cut out my headset and mic (I use a logitech usb headset) so I can't hear or talk. On top of that, my mouse lags and it takes forever to get to OBS Studio and stop recording. My entire system seems to just crash when I hit the record button.
I am only recording sound through my output and input, though last night when I used it I was also capturing discord in a web screen. So far I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, performing a disk check, and updating my drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's a log of when it happened last night.

Is some other software trying to use your headset? Is the driver set to allow exclusivity?

We're talking through Discord, so Discord is also using it. I saw the exclusivity yesterday and turned it off. Another problem I face is that every time I plug my headset in, the computer recognizes it as a different headset and resets the preferences.

Windows does that. If you need to be removing the headset from the machine, you're probably going to need to either re-add or at least re-configure that source in OBS, or at least confirm that the settings have not changed.

It's been a consistent issue since I started, but was happening long before the current issue began. Sometimes now I have to replug my headset in or enable/disable it in my sound devices in order to get it to reconfigure because it randomly drops audio.

I don't see any significant rendering or encoding overload, so I'm not sure what is causing your machine to slow down. I might suggest building your canvas at a lower resolution than 1080p especially if you're streaming at a bitrate as low as 550 kbps. Scaling the output reduces load on your encoder, but not your renderer, and the GT 610 is not a particularly strong GPU.

I set the canvas to 128x720 so hopefully that will help. I'm not streaming currently though, it's just recording. Still it is good to reduce load on the encoder. Thanks for the help.
