Hello, I open my game up and go into a game, as soon as I open OBS Studio the frame rate becomes choppy, the same thing happens when I start to stream. When I close OBS Studio the frame rate restores back to normal. It happens with no sources and no scenes too.

Any help would go a long way.

Still no streaming/recording attempts in the log. Restart OBS, then start your stream/recording for a few minutes and stop it again. When you're done select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste it here.

I'm having the same issue and I did a few tests

1) On OBS Studio, I tried to disable the Preview. It didn't get any better, idling or recording.

2) On OBS Classic, when the program is on idle the game doesn't stutter. During any other circunstamces (Preview stream or recording) the game stutters.

Thank you for your reply penta, I will try Obs Classic today and see if there are any frame drops when opening the program.
I'll report back with the results/

So I've downloaded the OBS classic and I have just tested streaming for about 20 minutes and i'm running into some problems I'm not sure what encoder to use, I downloaded the AMD VCE encoder and using it on the preset speed. I'm not sure how to optimize my stream on the OBS classic version. Also the game I am streaming is called MicroVolts and it doesn't capture the game when I use game capture. I have to use window capture and I feel like it won't be as good.

One problem fixed and more have spawned :D
