Question / Help OBS Studio crashes every few minutes

Code:
video device: Elgato Game Capture HD

This is the likely cause of your crashes.

Unplug the capture card, uninstall the drivers, reboot your PC, reinstall the latest drivers from the Elgato website, plug the card back in.

Oh wow thank you! I'll give that a shot! I did some of those last night but not removing the card since it is a HD Pro so that makes complete sense.

I'm having the same issues @Jason. Did the exact same thing (even changed PC's to double check). Even if I can get OBS up, it doesn't stream so long as the Elgato Capture Card is a source in ANY scene.

Let me do some digging and see if I can figure out a workaround for you guys. Just so you know, we've had a large number of folks reporting crashes with the newest Elgato drivers. All signs point to Elgato as the source of the problem, but I understand that it's frustrating to not be able to use in OBS. Please bear with me while I do some research.

So just an update, I've reverted to older drivers and it does still crash. Is it at all possible it could be the newest version of OBS Studio causing this? I will probably test anyway but just want to let you guys know. Thanks.

Hi All one last update. When I reverted back my OBS and Elgato drivers I was still getting crashes HOWEVER in the older OBS version (As far as I know) says a message if your encoder is overloaded. What ended up being wrong was my settings needed to be tweaked so after changing some stuff everything is working again. When I get home today Ill provide one last update where if the latest OBS and Elgato drivers don't crash with the new settings Ill let you know.
