Bug Report OBS Studio 20.1.3 Downgrade

Recently just upgraded to OBS Studio 21.0.1. I must say the audio bars look snazzy, but I ended up reinstalling 20.1.3 for the purpose of 21.0.1 having an interruption problem with display capture, and window capture, and a minute amount of others.

I stream a lot of Diablo II LOD, and to capture it properly I use display capture on it. However, for some reason when I upgraded to the most recent version of OBS, it would only capture the game in windowed mode, and then the program was having issues with me turning on/off different captures mid OBS session.

To remedy the situation, after having launched D2 in windowed mode, it would capture the window, but then display capture would be down, only showing a blank screen. To then capture the display, I would have to relaunch obs, but then as soon as any interaction with D2 happened, the issue would present itself again.

I would really like to use those nice audio bar visuals, so I hope this gets fixed in future updates!!!

Are you on Windows 10 using multiple display captures? If so, you may need to delete all your display captures and re-add them.

Can you post your log? (Here's how)

Windows 10, multiple displays (though not multiple display captures) - Reinstalled the latest to grab a log file of what's happening, for your viewing pleasure.

The earliest log shows me opening the instance of D2, where display capture was working appropriately, and then upon opening the instance, it shuts down, I then tab out of D2, restart OBS, and it captures the display, where then when I interact with D2 again, display capture shuts off.

Downgrading to the previous update, remedies the situation, and I can appropriately capture the display, and interact with D2.

I have also been experiencing a few more microphone bugs as of late, with the two most recent updates, than in previous versions...

Thanks.

As Dodge mentioned, you have 2 Monitor Capture sources in the same scene, try deleting both of them and re-adding them. Also try disabling your Game Capture source as you have it on the top layer, you CAN have them in the same scene but you should try to have them separated.

13:44:18.215: - scene 'Server':
13:44:18.219: - source: 'Video Game' (game_capture)
13:44:18.219: - source: 'Diablo II' (window_capture)
13:44:18.219: - source: 'Monitor 1' (monitor_capture)
.......
13:44:18.219: - source: 'Audio Visuals' (monitor_capture)
13:44:18.219: - filter: 'Crop/Pad' (crop_filter)
13:44:18.219: - filter: 'Color Key' (color_key_filter)

That seemed to work, deleting, and then adding the instances back in. Thanks...

Cool, good to know that worked. Display capture changed a bit in v21 to improve performance for people using multiple display captures on Windows 10, but it sounds like it may have had a bit of an unintended side effect for people already using multiple display captures.
