Question / Help OBS stops streaming randomly on ONE game

I've used OBS for quite some time now, and both classic and studio (I have studio now 0.16.2) stop streaming randomly on one game - 7 Days to Die. Every other game I stream it continually does so, but this one it stops randomly, sometimes in a few seconds of streaming, sometimes a minute or two, but it does it many many times.

It used to not stream it at all until I lowered the encoding bitrate to 1000. I don't know what else to do. I also have XSplit but my subscription for it ran out but it NEVER had this issue. Only OBS. I'd much rather use OBS but 7 Days to Die is the main game I play.

Any ideas?

Here is the recent video - the vid SHOWS 27 minutes but if you play the vid, it's actually 20, which means I lost 7 minutes of recording due to the fact that the stream kept randomly stopping.

Your log mostly shows multiple successful streaming attempts with some frame drops for insufficient bandwidth.

May I ask, why did you put "opencl=true" in your custom encoder settings? I've seen this a lot lately, and it usually just causes more problems than it solves. In fact, it broke your stream at the end of your log.

That aside, to check the quality of your connection, please try running the Twitch Bandwith Test toolusing a Medium Test Duration for your region with a 64k TCP Window Size, and post a screenshot of the results here so that we can see the results.

You should also update your OBS Studio to 0.16.5 or the latest version (a new release may be coming soon).

I put the opencl thing as another thread I was reading suggested that for freezing / dropping. I did a testing site that was recommended for streaming and my upload was 3.2 MBPS, but I will try this twitch tool as you suggest and report back.

Again, though, the ONLY game it has trouble streaming is this one, 7 days to die. EVERY other game streams fine.

Streaming is less about connection speed and more about connection quality. The minimum acceptable quality for streaming is 80. With zeroes across the board, it's a miracle that you're able to stream anything at all. It's possible that something about how 7 Days to Die uses your Internet connection interferes with your already strained connection, which is causing you to only see streaming issues on that.

Have you tried streaming or testing your connection on a wired connection? Or moving closer to your wireless router?

It is also possible that only 7 Days to Die causes encoder strain, which causes an encoder failure. There are some fixes for encoder failures in newer versions of OBS Studio, so you should update.

I can't do wired or move closer to the router as I am dependent on my apartment complex's internet for the time being, which I don't have access to their wireless router, and it is used by many apartments. The quality of my internet is crap, and yeah, it definitely is a miracle I can stream anything, I will update and give it another go, other than that, I guess I am at the mercy of this internet until we move, which won't be for another 6 months.

EDIT: It should be noted that I can stream 7 Days to Die from PS4 with no issues at all, so I don't know, but that's a PS4 built in thing.
