Question / Help obs stops recording but the timer keeps on going and the display that i am capturing freezes

so this is a problem i have, i use obs alot to record stuff on my laptop and the last week or so it keeps freezing the capture and the timer keeps on going and when i watch the video it does not have the last parts of the video, for exsample today i have captured a video and on obs it said 2 hours and 41 minuts but the video was only 2 hour and 7 minuts when i reviewed it later

Hi guys,

Same thing happened to me since 10 days ago, many others experience similar things, there are not much in form of what actually broke but can you try and check if you all have Windows update KB3176938 installed (assuming you are using Win 10)...manually uninstall it has fixed the problem for me and quite some others with problem you described.

Uninstalling Windows update KB3176938 showed improvements for you? And you are saying that the uninstall helped others as well? If so, this should be a stickied post.

I uninstalled the update listed and saw some improvements on stream length, but no solid answers yet. I'll get back to you if anything comes up.

If it does happen to work for you, please return and say so. It will help a lot of people who are searching for answers.
