Question / Help OBS Stops randomly

Hi all,

Im having a problem where by OBS Studio suddenly stops letting me click anything, previewing the webcam etc everything is still operating, just won't let me click anything, type anything in a box etc - Anyone got any ideas what would cause this?

Usually that is caused by some kind of antivirus or other third party program interfering with OBS' normal operation.

i dont have any installed ive just formatted my laptop - it doesnt go into 'not responding' state etc, everything works, windows are selectable, just literally can't click anything or type

Not sure who you mean, so probably not me.

Try these steps, and try to replicate the issue:

Make a clean log file: First restart OBS, then start your stream/recording for ~30 seconds and stop it again. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc. When you're done select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste it here.

Take longer than 30 seconds if needed. Try having a hotkey set for start/stop recording/stream and see if that helps.

Also, can try running OBS as administrator.
