OK So I have been using OBS for streaming Mass every weekend since March 2020 and tonight came across a major problem that I have never encountered.
I always simultaneously record Mass just incase the Internet connection goes down so I can upload the recording later. In over 150 livestreams I have only needed to do this about 5 times!
So tonight I streamed Mass as usual and only at the end did I notice that it said "No Data". Looking back at the recording only the first 8:20 was actually streamed (even though my YouTube channel shows the video with 44:46?)
What's really strange is that it also only recorded the first 8:51. So I don't think I can recover the complete 44:46 recording.
I did notice when I went to close OBS it looked like it was stuck on 'stopping recording'
And when I tried to start OBS up again to view the Log files it gave me a warning that an instance of OBS was already running - I had no choice but "Open anyway"
I have attached two log files - I began the livestream around 19:26:57 and then started the stream at 19:27:08
The saved video is 8:51 long so I guess 19:35:48 would show something in the log.
The only thing I see out of the ordinary is:
19:35:50.466: [rtmp stream: 'adv_stream'] bitrate decreased to: 4200
19:35:51.742: [rtmp stream: 'adv_stream'] bitrate decreased to: 4100
So my questions are:
1. Why did the stream stop?
2. Why did the recording stop?
3. Why does YouTube show 44:46 for video length that is actually 8:20?
Usually if OBS crashes it used to restart automatically or at least give me an obvious pop up error
Can anyone help? I don't want this to happen again!
