Hello, and sorry in advance, I will try not to be much of a nuisance.
Recently, I've gotten a new PSU (850 Gold) and 2x16 RAM. I think most of my specs will be easy to see from the log. Nevertheless, only after I've gotten these new pieces, and I attempted to stream again, both OBS and SLOBS (I tried for the sake of luck) have been lagging my computer entirely once I start recording or streaming. Before I've gotten the new pieces, I could stream 1080/60 smoothly without a problem, with a lesser PSU (750 Bronze) and 4x8 weaker RAM. Everything works smoothly for anything heavy, except when I try to record almost anything on OBS, even before any heavy game is launched.
Temperature overall is fine throughout, the usage of CPU and RAM is low, and the usage of GPU is 87% to 100%. However, even so much as having the same overlays and scenes as I did before, is enough to cause lag that increases in intensity to a worrisome degree, even as I try to type in chat; that is, with the same configuration that seemed to run smoothly before, despite my computer being slower to run games, back then.
I've ran a log without any scene or overlay, only capture of a game, and the lag is somewhat smaller but still noticeable, especially if I open the same PNG-tube program that I used before (Veadotube). The "no-overlay log" will be linked down below.
I am unfortunately not very tech-savvy aside from the minimally acceptable, so I apologize again, in advance, in case it is something that I've been doing wrong on my end.
The only differences that I can point out compared to my previous (slightly weaker) build are:
- 4x8 RAM instead of 2x16, properly adjusted to the CPU and good quality
- Better M2 NVMe
- Clean windows reinstall
- A better PSU
- Not using MSI Afterburner anymore, instead, Corsair LINK.
I have tried solutions pointed out beforehand in posts similar to mine.
- Trying Hardware acceleration on/off (No result)
- DDU and reinstalling the GPU driver (No result)
- Lowering settings to 720p (No result, and I could stream 1080p very easily before)
- Testing with Overlays on and off, both nVidia's and Windows Game Bar (No Result)
- Starting an entirely new scene collection (The more I add things, the more it starts lagging my entire PC again. I can even see the Audio Mixer volume animation lagging, especially if I run other apps with OBS)
The moment I close OBS, I can play any game without a problem. I have also noticed that despite everything else lagging when I stream/record, even sources that play on top of my stream, like clips, the game itself remains mostly smooth.
Thank you so much for your attention. Sorry for the text wall.
PS: Streaming a game on Discord to friends doesn't cause any of this. I don't know if this information is any useful.
