Obs source switching

I have set up a scene with a number of different browser sources. I would like to manually switch between these sources.

I have tried obs source switcher, but with that it looks like I can only set up a timer. I want to manually switch between them. The only other way I can think to do this is to create a separate scene for each browser source , but then I would have lots of different scenes.

Is there a way I can get the browser sources to change manually? So if i click on them they will change?

Thanks

You can click on the eye ️to show/hide them. You could also put them into groups and show/hide the group.

What would be the disadvantage of having many scenes and doing scene switching, over source switching with the eye icon?

Thanks for the replies. I’ll have a look into groups.

I think with the scenes i just thought i’d end up having quite a lot. The idea was to have different webcams, and i could switch between them.

Let's say you have 4 cameras. You want to switch through these cameras during your broadcast. So these cameras are all their own scene, and the operation you need to do to switch to one camera is switching to the corresponding scene.

You have probably sources and elements that are common to all scenes, and you don't want to duplicate all of them to all scenes.
To organize your cameras and scenes, do this:
- create a scene that will contain everything that is common to all scenes, and additionally one of your cameras to have a full scene without missing elements.
- Create a group and put all these common elements into the group, and keep the camera source separate. Call the group "common".
- for all of the other cameras, create a new scene.
- add the group "common" to all of the new scenes with the "add existing" option.
- additionally, add the other camera sources to the scenes, one camera per scene

Now you have similar scenes with only a different camera for each. You can switch to one camera by just switching scenes. There is much functionality attached to scenes (for example automated scene switchers, studio mode, and also projectors), so you can use this functionality this way.

If you need to change your common appearance globally, you just change the sources within the group - since the group is in every scene, every scene inherits the changes you do in one scene. You can also add new sources to that group - it will be reflected in all other scenes as well.
