Obs Sounds Underwater

Hey!

My OBS recordings have been sounding underwater recently...i have changed nothing in there and it did it seemingly out of nowhere

thanks for your help in advance!

Turn your headset to stereo mode.
Surround headsets use a form of emulation for surround sound that is not compatible with obs.

now the question of where do i turn 7.1 (surround) off?
i have and always had it turned off so it must be an option in obs but where do i find it?

It's not an option in OBS. It's an option in the headset's software and in windows' sound settings
