alright this is REALLY weird. when i stream on obs, only when i stream, about 5 minutes after i start streaming my headset/webcam/USB Wifi Adapter disconnects and reconnects. i know for a fact that it's obs because of testing. but why would it do that? thanks for any help

P.S. - im running Windows 8.1 64 bit, and my specs are 8GB ram, 250GB HDD, GTX 750Ti, AMD FX Quad core

i ran obs perfectly fine before i upgraded to win 8. i would think obs would have better compatibility than this

Sounds like a driver / hardware problem. OBS doesn't interact with USB directly.

right but somehow, obs is what causes it. because if i dont run obs my adapter wont DC ever however roughly 5 minutes after i start streaming it'll reset. why would you think that is?

What R1CH is saying is that just because running OBS triggers the issue doesn't mean that OBS itself is the source of the issue. Just like if your PC had poor cooling and OBS caused it to overheat while streaming, the issue would be with the cooling, not with OBS.

ah i see what ya mean. i think i figured out the problem. and yeah obs does trigger it. i could be using all of my usb devices on any other program but with obs, thats when apperantly my usb power overloads and causes a reset. i would need a powered hub to fix it apperantly. but im not even using all 6 of my usb slots and its using all the power which kinda sucks. i tried unplugging my usb keyboard and using a PS/2 port keyboard but that didnt do anything. i think windows 8 is part of what caused it too as i never had this problem on win7
