OBS setup with HDCP

I use a capture card and OBS to be able to "play" my ps5 through my main PC monitor and have been doing so for a little while now. When setting it up I read that in order to be able to have OBS get the audio and video from my PS5 I would need to disable HDCP. I've been able to play games such as NBA2K24 and NHL24 with broadcast commentary with HDCP still turned off. Today I bought and downloaded EA College Football 25. I noticed when I booted up the game on my ps5 and opened up OBS that there was no broadcast commentary. I was getting all audio from the game, other than the commentary. I couldn't quite figure out why this was happening so I unplugged my capture card and just plugged and HDMI from the PS5 to a normal TV. Doing so allowed the commentary to come through since the game wasn't being ran through OBS. Is there any workaround for this so I can "play" through OBS?

Help me understand something please.

  1. PS5 (HDCP on) and plugged directly to TV - Are you getting the commentary?
  2. PS5 (HDCP off) and plugged directly to TV - Are you getting the commentary?

1. (HDCP on) getting commentary through TV
2. (HDCP off) still getting commentary through TV

It seems that when I plug the PS5 into my capture card and then the capture card through my PC that the commentary audio stops going through

Thanks for confirming above. Seems like your capture device is missing a sound channel. Got something for you to try.

Change the sound options on your PS5 to the below screenshot.

Output Device = HDMI Device (AV Amplifier)
Number of Channels = 2 ch

If that works fine this would suggest your capture device is not processing the number of sound channels correctly.
