Question / Help OBS saying that it is picking up desktop audio but can't hear it in stream or recording

I have an issue where OBS is showing that it is picking up desktop audio through voicemeeter. (I use voicemeeter to help separate tracks) and even if I set it to default it shows the same. But when I am recording the video or streaming my mic can be heard but my desktop audio cannot be heard. If someone could help me I can give you any information if you need it

Not sure if you got it figured out, but I made an account just to answer this because I had the same issue — I had to go into my sound settings and change the output there. Here’s what I did, I hope it helps:

Right click audio icon in the taskbar, go to sound settings, and choose a different output device until you hear the audio. The recording will pick it up once you can hear it.

I have a similar problem, but it’s only desktop audio picked up in the full recording. Audio track with my mic is empty after saying it has picked up. I’ve done the solution and same results.
