this started happening not too long ago, i think like 2 weeks ago, i dont know why. i had an issue where i cant clip, so when i check stats, i see around 96% skipped frames due to encoding lag, even though ram usage and everything else seemed fine.
i managed to fix this slightly, but soon after it came back and it started happening once again (but this time it atleast doesnt skip 96% of the frames), can somebody help me?

CBR isn't your best option for recording. CQP will save space on your HD. You can also use the Main Profile instead of Main10.

That said, those settings really shouldn't be causing encoding lag. I wonder if it's your C drive flaking out or getting full, can you write to another drive & see if the encoding lag remains?

Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 518/7229 (7.2%)

Maybe try a driver update if there's no improvement. I'm still running 566.36 with my 3090, but 580.88 is in that post Series 5000 release funk. I think you'll get better performance updating.

it wasnt really my c drive getting full... i still have around 200gb left, that being said, i somehow fixed my issue. now i dont know which "fix" i did actually fixed the issue, but i did disable HAGS and tweaked around the settings abit (im pretty sure i disabled Adaptive Quantization) and couple of other stuff.

if i ever encounter any issues, im probably gonna do this since i do use abit outdated driver. thanks for trying to help me though!

I don't know what size your drive is but 200GB of a 1TB drive would be less than 20% free space. Most drives are already slowing down....

Is the drive over-provisioned? All my SSD's are @ 10%, helps with wear leveling & boosts performance at the expense of some of your HD space.

yea its a 1tb m.2 ssd, but thats the only disk i got for now. ive been planning of upgrading but i didnt have any issues with disk space to be fair.

i have around 70gb overprovisioned if thats what you meant
