sony vegas is incredibly sensitive to system codec configurations. if you've ever installed any codec packs, you're basically boned.

as a general rule, avoid codec packs. if you've already installed one, you might have to reformat and reinstall your system. uninstalling the codec packs won't work. there's probably a way to fix this by editing the registry, but i haven't be able to.
Haven't installed any codec packs but thanks for the heads up

I'm coming to the conclusion that this is indeed a codec problem and not an issue with OBS at all. I installed my copy of Sony Vegas on a laptop, not my usual machine, and I get the same problem as you are seeing. I've tried digging around on the internet to see if I could fix it but nothing works :-( I'll keep digging and let you know if I find anything. You could also ask on the forums at creativecow.net which is where I get a lot of help on Vegas problems.

In the screenshots you posted earlier in this thread you did not configure it properly,
All audio devices are on track 1 and you only selected track 1 in the recording settings, so obviously you will only get 1 track in Vegas.

Also why are you demuxing the file,?

Ok i'll give the recording a try again tomorrow and will see how it goes. Thanks Osiris :)

Just wanted to do a double check but I think this is what @Hsarb is seeing in Vegas:

If this is what you are seeing then I don't really think that the OBS audio settings are a problem, from what I can tell and please @Osiris correct me if I'm wrong, the resultant file should have one audio track with all devices mixed in together and even that doesn't appear in Vegas

Go to Sonycreativesoftware.com, log on, go to Downloads, Updates, Vegas Pro 12 and Download and install the patch.
Thanks Adrian, it says the latest patch i can download is build 394. should i still download this or should i find other means to get the patch

You can try that but I think that's the original build version. You do have Sony Vegas Pro 12 correct? Make sure you are looking at the Vegas Pro 12 updates and not the Vegas Pro 12 Suite updates

Well I have Vegas 11 and for whatever reason my brain thought it was 12. When I looked for the Vegas 11 downloads I couldn't see any so I don't know where I could get the most recent build for 11

Go to where you were before, Downloads, Updates, at the bottom of the Vegas section choose All Vegas Updates. Scroll down a bit until you find this, the entries don't appear to be in any sensible order so scroll carefully :-)
