OBS recordings have no video content

I recorded a video, using OBS 's standard default recording settings ( .mkv, h.264.) The resulting mkv file has no video content. I've done this before, without errror. Did something change?

You posted in another thread about re-broadcasting commercially copyrighted content. Is that what you're doing here? If so, then it's not supposed to work, and any serious help in that direction is effectively "how to pirate".

The standard answer for that, assuming that the above is true, is that the source (Cable Box, Firestick, whatever) got a software update. It wasn't encrypted before, and now it is, to better protect the content that it plays. And for obvious reasons, you can't roll it back.
