OBS - Recordings Constantly Restarting Playback / Capture Problem?

Hey

I am starting to get really frustrated with OBS, I have recently downloaded the program and followed a pretty extensive guide to set up OBS to record my gameplay in Post Scriptum.

I have tried to use several different "Recording Formats" raging from MP4, FLV and MKV.

Everytime I try and open the recorded file for playback the video just starts glitching out and starts replay itself over and over again constantly to the point where it locks up Windows Media Player or VLC so I have to close the application via task manager.

I have reformatted my PC to try and stop this problem and it's still present.

I am unable to skip to any point in the video without it immediately putting my playback straight to the beginning and restarting playback over and over.

However if I try and play the file in OBS (drag it into the application and let it auto play) it seems totally fine?

What the hell is going on?

I have just tried to use Shadow Play to capture game footage and I am having the exact same problem.

The video constantly trying to replay itself over and over.

Hi I'm sorry this is not a fix for the issue but I have the same problem. The difference is that it only happens to me 75% of the time, sometimes I'll record something and it plays back perfectly but most of the time I get the replay glitch you described. I have tried reinstalling all involved software and even went as far as resetting my PC but I am still encountering this issue.

Strangely enough one of the recordings that didn't glitch out initially is now having the same issue even though it didn't before and I was previously able to play it back with no problems but I have not changed any settings on OBS or in VLC. The videos wont playback in other applications either even if I try viewing them through the file explorer.

I don't suppose you've found a fix yet but I thought I'd just share my experience.
