OBS Recordings Choppy on Elgato 4k Mk2

I have tried changing every option to get OBS to record without the videos being choppy. I can't find what the problem is. Even when I lower settings it sometimes makes the videos worse. I cant see any frames lost, the CPU usage is never above 1% and the GPU usage never goes above 50%. I've used the auto configuration wizard suggestion as a starting point, reset OBS and recorded a video for a fresh log file. Hopefully someone who knows more about OBS can find an issue.

if you dont get the choppyness when you dont use the Elgato. Then i bet you have installed the wrong drivers for Elgato. This happened to me and it created a choppy stream. I found different drivers that were specfic to my elgato. (different one from you) and it sorted the chop. So what i am saying is, if you are just getting chop when you use the elgato. try different elgato drivers. gl

Thanks for the suggestion. The drivers are already up to date so this didn't work. I managed to fix it 99% by setting 'Buffering' in the capture cards properties to 'Auto Detect'. It still goes choppy for a couple of seconds every minute or so but the majority of footage is smooth now.

glad its working, i might add, i have an older version of an elgato, i downloaded the latest drivers that said it could be used with it, and it was the latest drivers that caused choppyness. It was only when i went back and used an older driver for my elgato that it smoothed out
