Question / Help OBS recordings are super laggy...

Hey. So, a week ago I replaced my old graphics card with a much better one. The old one was an AMD radeon with only 1gb. The new one I've got is a gtx 960 with 4 gb (and yes, i've got a new power supply too - 650 W).
Here's the problem.. since then, obs will not record anything like it did before. Before, the recordings were decent. No lag at all. Now, everything I try to record, even tho it's the shittiest game or app, the recording will still be very laggy. It's not game lag! The games I try to record work perfectly fine. So I belive it has something to do with the new graphics card (even tho it's much better than the old one..) or maybe a recent obs update.. or the fact that I'm using windows 10.. I don't know..

The problem is that you're maxing out your hardware. GPU is choking most likely because there's no vsync frame rate limit enabled, CPU is choking on the combination of the encoding load and running the game. Turn on vsync or limit your frame rate, use Quick Sync or NVENC to handle the encoding.

The vsync is enabled in all of my games. Also, I tried limiting the fps (display-based). Didn't work.. :(

What did you limit the frame rate to? What is your CPU and GPU load while playing a game and recording?

You mean the percentage? When I start the game the CPU is somewhere around 95%. Then it comes back to normal at 30%.
