OBS recording music when gaming on PC, how to stop it

Hi,

When I record a video or stream when gaming and am listening to music on the PC, using JellyFin/JellyAmp, it records the music in the video.
How can I stop OBS doing this?

As I can't see to find a way to do this, other then stopping the music, while streaming or recording?

Thanks

1. you ignored pinned post in forum about posting OBS Studio log when asking for help/support... not good

You are capturing audio from Desktop Audio, right?
easy fix is don't play music that goes thru Desktop Audio
but you didn't want to hear that right?
the problem is the Windows (operating system) Audio sub-system... it does NOT offer a clean, reliable way to separate audio... there are all kinds of workarounds folks use, depending on their specific setup.

search this forum for ideas/suggestions on separating game audio from everything else (and why the Win Capture Audio plugin/feature isn't reliable, especially on Win10, but Win11 not a lot better

Personally, my use case does NOT require anything in Desktop Audio, so I disabled it altogether. And then in my sources, I have ONLY the specific Audio Sources I want... but there are many circumstances where this approach doesn't work all that well
