Question / Help OBS "reconnecting" after 40:05 minutes of streaming.

This happens after around 40 minutes of streaming +/- a few seconds.

OBS drops the "reconnecting in..." dialog box. After reconnecting it runs fine, but it's utterly frustrating because:
1) it's way longer for viewers
2) I can't use any social media bindings without spamming them
3) I have no idea what causes it and what can fix it.

I tried everything. Changing settings, cables, testing different platforms (twitch, hitbox), using 32/64 bit, reinstalling, checking router, antiviruses and malware. This problem does not occur on Xsplit by the way, but I like OBS a LOT more ( +it's free ). My upstream bandwidth can support stable 4-5mb/s and twitch.tv dashboard displays my quality as "flawless".

Game/capture mode doesn't seem to matter. Most of the time the log displays

Code:
04:15:59: RTMPPublisher::SocketLoop: Received FD_CLOSE, 17364 ms since last send (buffer: 328201 / 331776)
04:15:59: RTMPPublisher::SocketLoop: Aborting due to FD_CLOSE, error 10053

If anyone can help out with this I'd be endlessly greatful. I'm frustrated at this point beyond measure after a week of testing.

I've found a solution. I've seen a LOT of threads in my search, who had the same problem with no solution, so I'm hoping it'll help someone in the future.

If you have this problem:

Try using OBS Studio (0.13.1) instead of OBS. I just streamed 2 hours with OBS-Studio and I had 0 problems.

Cheers to you guys creating such awesome and free software!

You could try the "Disable TCP optimizations" option in advanced settings. Perhaps something on your network doesn't handle large windows properly.

UPDATE: The issue was not fixed with OBS Studio. I have no idea why, but after the very first streams the issue reappeared and it's crashing every 40 minutes again.

I'll try the TCP optimizations out. Any chance this option exists in OBS Studio too?

If anyone ever encountered this problem, I'd take any advise at this point, it's infuriating and maddening

Can try streaming to somewhere other then twitch, or using different twitch servers, to help narrow down if the problem is twitch's server, your internet, or the internet's routers between your internet and twitch.

While streaming, try opening command and do: ping google.com -t (ctrl+c to stop). Keep ping going until stream disconnects.

I tried hitbox, didn't change anything,

I'll try the second one though, thanks.

I'll leave this comment in case someone finds this and has the same agonizing problem:

what fixed it for me was switching from LAN to WIFI, yes it's 100% not great and it's not what people recommend, but I think it's either my network card or something about my cable (I know it sounds ridiculous, but after searching for MONTHES you'll know what I mean).

Good luck.

PS: I'll buy a new PC soon + new ISP + new router after moving to another town and hopefully I'll never hear from it ever again
