Question / Help OBS Randomly Stopped Working

Today opened OBS to stream. I didn't change any settings just fired it up and hit start Stream and all i get is a black stream. I tried multiple different ways and even reinstalled OBS.

Anyone have any idea what would randomly cause this? Did this happen to you recently Aaron? Maybe it is a problem with an update or something?

Yes it just stopped working for me today. I don't know what the issue could be. Do you have a 32 bit computer or a 64 bit. Because mine is 64 and im thinking that might be the problem. But that wouldnt explain why it worked earlier.

ya that shouldnt matter. Mine stopped working today as well. So it must have been something that they did.

OBS Classic hasn't been updated in 9 months, so the problem is on your end. Log files will be helpful. If you're on Win10 this is likely caused by a Win10 update.

I havent had a windows 10 update in weeks. This problem occurred last night after not having touched anything at all. I do however have a new router but i dont see how that would cause OBS to not be able to game capture even in preview where it is not being broadcasted. If you check the game capture source you'll see OBS needs to be running as admin to capture that game.

That is the first thing i did when it stopped working before even posting here was set it to run as administrator every time it starts.

Then your game has changed its anti-cheat and no longer allow hooks.

Aaron do you play and stream Rainbow 6 Siege? Maybe that is what we share in common?
