Question / Help OBS preview window solid white (but recorded file works)

I recently have had issues with my NVIDIA graphics drivers, so i reverted back to my last working version (388.59 on a GTX 1070). Now my games will open and run as intended, but in OBS i cannot see my preview.

I have very little experience with OBS, but after changing output format to .mp4 and adding a Display Capture, the recorded files will show my monitor. i just cannot edit the position of text and the like in preview

After asking around, the best I can suggest is a clean graphics driver install, or disabling Avast's Game Mode, Avast itself, or uninstalling Avast.
