Question / Help OBS Preview Stuttering / OBS FPS Dropping

Hello everyone,

today I upgraded my windows 7 to windows 10 and since that I have a big problem.
OBS is not going to capture my GTA 5 with 30 FPS.
The Game is running smoothly but OBS says it has 5 FPS and the preview window is stuttering like hell.

With windows 7 everything was fine.
Is that an option I have to turn off?

Windows Defender and Firewall is deactivated.
I tried all grafic settings in GTA (even DX10 and lowest graphics) and i have the same problem.
To me it looks like OBS has a problem with windows but I don't know what problem.


EDIT: PUBG same Problem after a few Seconds the FPS in OBS are dropping

mandratory checklist:

1. 60hz desktop refresh
2. 60 or 30 in obs
3. 60 in game if there is switch for it (like bf3, bf4, overwatch)
4. enable vsync in game
5. run obs as admin
6. make sure your gpu can do stable 60fps in game without being maxed. OBS needs some of gpu resources as well. If you enabled vsync@60 and its still maxed lower resolution and/or details.

Did not work.
FPS is still dropping in obs.

Install Afterburner (or pure RTSS+HW Info) to monitor cpu/gpu load and start experimenting with tuning resolution / fps / x264 preset. GPU/CPU load should not exceed 85-90%

Hi,

i just realized as soon as I move in GTA the GPU goes up to 98%.
Even with the lowest specs

EDIT:
CPU is around 20%
Seems like it don't care^^

Second Edit:
The Game gives me 60-90 FPS.
So this works fine. OBS seems to have a problem to capture everything when the game shows a bit more on the screen

so you dont have vsync@60

point 1+4 from the list, if you get over 60 in game it means you didnt [check] it
