Question / Help OBS Output "GPU" setting?

Under "Output" and changing your settings to "Advanced" then "NVENC H.264" you'll notice a setting at the bottom labeled "GPU". In this setting you can change the output to pretty much any number.

What is this for? (which OBS had MouseOver Tips)
 
It's for selecting the GPU you want NVENC to run on.

Do keep in mind that unless your system consists of nothing but multiple Quadro cards, setting that option to anything but 0 will result in NVENC not working (thanks NVidia!).
 
Ah, I wondered if that's what it was for. I run duel cards and one of them runs very hot so I could essentially force it to run on the other card via this setting.

Card 1 = 0
Card 2 = 1

What about the b-Frames? Can't seem to find much on this
 
Does changing this value still work?
I run my games in a GTX 1080 and I'm setting the GPU value to "1" so it uses my 750 Ti instead.
I'm asking because when I change "Video Adapter" to 750Ti in Classic OBS it doesn't output anything.

Does changing the GPU value in "Studio" (Classic doesn't even have this option) still works? Can I have a GPU recording gameplay if I set the value to "1" instead of "0"?

As I stated before, I'm asking, because when using Classic it only shows a blackscreen, but in Studio it displays image. From what I've heard, for the gameplay to be recorded, it has to be running in the same GPU as the running game.
Simplifying: If I have a GPU on the top slot and one on the lower slot, by setting "GPU" value to "1" under Video Settings, will it use the lower slot GPU as the NVENC? Or will it still use the GPU I'm using to run the game regardless of the value?

Today i wonna know also me this resution of same problem that i have 2 nvidia card
1- is asus 1070 the first card (0 for me);
2- is asus 1030 the second card (1 for me)
 
Neither of you have the same issue as the original poster of this thread, nor do you have the same issue as each other. You should both be in your own threads.
