OBS not splitting the music from my recording

Hi,

So I have OBS setup as an external audio input in order to split it from the recording that I make while I stream.

and I've set the recording to record on channel/track 3 but the music is still in the recording

I don't know if I'm being stupid but can someone please shed some light for me.

you have monitor and output, but to record select only music track no. 3.

select other track to record, check your monitor (audio output) and don’t record.

Thanks for the reply.

So I record and stream at the same time. I listen to copyrighted music while streaming but would like the music to be excluded from the recording. That's what I was kind of hoping I did with the above settings.

Ok I figured it out. I had to remove my default sound device and add spotify with the new beta feature. that fixed it up.
