Question / Help OBS Not Recording @60fps!

So I'm trying to record my League of Legends gameplay, RECORD NOT STREAM, and I have my settings set to 60fps, and I have to change my lol game settings to 60fps, but then it records at like 10 fps, and it does it for all fps settings in lol!

Running a game without vertical sync or a frame rate limiter will frequently cause performance issues with OBS because your GPU will be maxed out. Enable vsync or set a reasonable frame rate limit that your GPU can handle without hitting 100% usage. Can you help me with settings for OBS? I'm new and I don't get all the settings.


Windows 10, ACERBLUE
Intel R Core i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10hz
64 bit, x64 based proccessor
Intel HD Graphics

You need to cap FPS in your game, not in OBS.

Using x264 and recording at 1080P @ 60FPS is going to have a big performance hit on your processor.

For now don't worry about vsync or capping your fps.

Change your encoder to QuickSync and let us know how it goes, if its fine we can then fine tune the settings later for better quality / performance.

I did try quicksync, and it’s still laggy.
Maybe I just need a new PC, but I’m poor so gg for life

Well lets not give up just yet.

Couple things to try;

- Reduce the resolution in OBS to 1280x720
- Set the FPS to 30
- Change the Quick Sync target usage to speed.
- Set your laptop to high performance mode in the windows power settings.

I see in your screenshots you have Mcafee and Avast, if both of those have real time scanning running at the same time this is going to have a terrible impact, especially considering you are recording to the same drive as your game and windows is running from.

Temporarily disable your antivirus programs and see if it makes a difference.
