OBS no longer seeing Pan from MOTU 828ES

Hi.

I'm looking to get some help with a new problem with audio in OBS

iMac i9. 12.3.1

I run a MOTU 828ES with 10 inputs. Up until 2 days ago I could sum all inputs into OBS with pan info with just one audio scene in OBS

Yesterday it all stopped. OBS stopped seeing the MOTU pan from my mic input and only saw it as a left input (input 1). I changed to input 2 and it came up on the right. Previously the MOTU software pan state would transfer to OBS and the Left channel, when panned to mid, would appear as mid in OBS. I can choose 'mono' in OBS, but this doesn't solve my problem.

Also, the inputs from the other channels no longer appear in OBS. Example; I have a stereo keyboard connected to input 5-6 on the MOTU - this no longer appears at the OBS input. But is clearly working on my system and can be seen in the MOTU software.

My system is working just fine without OBS. I can record on the 10 inputs and output on the 8 outputs form the MOTU.

I can mono the mic and have an additional audio scene for desktop audio (via Sonar Reference 4), but I can't get the other inputs on the MOTU to appear.

It would be great to return to the simple set up of everything arriving at the MOTU working as one scene in OBS!

I've tried;
Latest OBS
Re installing OBS
MOTU firmware update
Playing with MOTU setting
Latest Mac OS
Various combinations of audio scenes.
DAW audio driver routed to MOTU via Sonarworks, System default (MOTU) and straight to MOTU (how it was)

Voodoo; I was thinking about anything I did different (clutching at straws?). I have a Novation Launch Control I use to interface with Logic Audio. It was running the flashing light Demo Mode thing which was strange. I checked the USB cable and it wasn't seated correctly. I pushed it in and I think the screen glitch or flashed. When closing browser windows a pop up appeared that said something like 'do you want to use audio (something) (series of random characters) ? I ignored it, but I now have a nagging suspicion that there may be a ghost audio driver messing with my system? However, Logic and Mac System Audio does not see anything weird.

This happened on stream and a small army of knowledgeable tech friends worked with me, but no joy!

The workaround is to compromise by having mic input to mono and an additional audio scene from Sonarworks for the DAW audio. But this does not give me the additional inputs from my keyboard (in 5-6) etc.

Has anyone had this problem please? Any ideas?

I have a Time Machine backup and am considering returning my system to a few days ago, but can't get iMac to boot in recovery mode...

Thanks in advance,

Alexander
