OBS no longer picking up any audio input\output on Win11

Hey, first time posting here! I've been using OBS for 10 months now without any problem, but last week (July 29th, to be specific) I booted OBS up to find it was no longer picking up any audio, be it input or output. I'm on Win11, if that helps.

Log file here.

I looked around for any possible issues on Windows, but only was really able to find my USB headset's mic seemed to be completely dead despite it recognizing it was plugged in. No idea why, but doing the usual device deactivation, driver updating and reverting didn't seem to do anything. The odd thing is it still outputs sound just fine, but OBS doesn't even pick the desktop audio up. I checked my sources twice and nothing was changed since the last time I had used it, so I'm not sure what's going on. Did a fresh OBS install in any case, but that also didn't help.

This is more than likely something hardware-related, but I haven't been able to get it checked out yet. The headset does seem to be functioning correctly, given I tested it on another computer and found no issues there, so I have the slightest shred of hope this is a software issue I can fix without needing to take the computer to a repair shop.

Any help is very welcome.

Update, I tested a bluetooth headset and still ran into the same problem.

Does anyone have any leads?

This is not helping you; I'm on Windows 10 and works 100%
Windows 11 is the devil.... as well as Mac for the Desktop Audio settings in OBS. I hope OBS will fix this... if they can.

Yeah, that's what I'm noticing. I hope too, but hope never gets us far enough.

Yeah, I'd either go back to Win10 and keep it until it no longer gets updates, or switch to Ubuntu Studio Linux:

There's a bit of a learning curve when you switch systems like that, but it's no different from switching between Windows and Mac for the first time.

to be clear.. I'm guessing as I refuse to upgrade to Win11 at this point.
But I've seen Windows change internal GUID (or whatever) and confuse some software.
So - *if* Mic working fine at OS layer (OBS not running, even in background), then you may need to re-associate OBS Source with device. Or delete Source, and re-create (not sure if exiting OBS and/or OS reboot would be necessary.. hopefully not... but Win11 looks like std MS desktop every-other OS release for 20+ years (ie complete PoS starting with WinME, Vista, 8, and now 11)
