Question / Help OBS MP crashing games

Starting this afternoon OBS MP is causing games to crash. First was a steam game Banished, and I thought perhaps it was steam being weird or Banished, however It has also occurred with minecraft and Mass effect 2 and 3. I open OBS MP, set up for a stream and the moment i hit start stream, the game crashes out to the desktop. I haven't tried any other games than these, but it ruled out being a steam issue or a Java issue. And the games run fine when i use regular OBS. It literally started today as i had been recording with OBS MP just fine yesterday and streaming the same before. The exact same install as the one currently crashing games out. I did a clean reinstall and im still getting the error. As far as i know there hasn't been an update and I have been streaming and recording with OBS MP without issue for a while now. Ideas? If you need a log file let me know I will upload it.

FRAPS, Dxtory, MSI Afterburner, Razer Synapse, another instance of game capture, etc.

I know you ruled out Steam, but could you still see if, by any chance, the Steam overlay isn't turned on? This also creates a hooks for capturing incase you decide to start their own streaming functionality..

If a game crashes it almost always is a bad conflicting hook application of some sort. Steam is generally fine however, it's never really been known to cause a crash.

mine started doing the exact same thing. i was fine a few days ago and then crashing.

just an update to my issue.

Seems it was my Nvidia Experience that may have been hooking into my OBS MP causing my games to crash. I shut it down and have been streaming for a few hours now. Thanks for the previous comments, it lead to my fix.
