My setup.
OBS, Mixer, iPad for video input, Wireless mic, iTunes, powered speaker connected to mixer. Zoom is used to stream and
ITunes used as the music input - my mic used for voice input.
Mixer output connected to exteral powered 2-way powered mic.

I want to make my voice a little higher than the music. i understand how to adjust the mixer.

What can I do OBS to optimize the audio - mic and music? I added a Gain filter to the mic which sounds good.

Use the compressor filter for ducking to reduce the music volume while you speak:

Sorry @psycfitness
for slipping in your thread, but I have a question for @koala

I set up ducking to my output sources, selecting the suggested values found in the wiki and selecting my MIC in " Sidechain/Ducking Source".. Problem is I cannot hear any difference when recording my voice over some music, desktop audio stays exactly the same all the time.

You have to add the filter to the music source (the source that should get its volume reduced) and set the mic device in the sidechain/ducking source. Keep in mind the Windows audio output is not ducked this way. It's only the OBS output that gets reduced. You need to record something, play it back with some media player and hear what's in the video.

That exactly what I did. The only difference is that I applied compression to my audio output sources, not just to some music.
And then I recorded and opened the file in Davinci Resolve.

I haven't made any adjustments yet - but the recording from my spinning recently - the first 10 minutes everything sounded great - then the rest of the recording was really muted. Its the 2nd time this happened.

Why would the 1st 10 minutes be great with 50 minutes being muted?

I output to a 2-way powered speaker and, during the live session, everything sounds fine in the room but the recording, as I said, if muted 10 minutes after the class starts.

I really do need to get this right!
