Question / Help OBS Media (Audio) source Issue

I have this problem that bugs me. In one scene, where I have a close up shot on myself, I have a media source with an mp3 file playing in the background so as to create a somewhat festive mood.

Well, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work, the music just isn't there. Microphone and audio output from desktop is fine, but the audio source is just not there.
Why is it so fickle? o.O Like, it has happened to me before, and a reboot of the program has been known to fix it, but not this time apparently.

You are on a really old version of OBS. I would suggestion you update, there have been quite a few changes to the Media Source that will likely correct this issue.

Oh :O I see ^^ Sorry to sound like a complete goof, but how do i update? And will that screw around with my scenes or anything?

Nope. Your scenes will be the same. If you want to update you can go to OBS's website front page and go to Download and grab the newest version OR on your version of OBS Studio go to Help, Check for Updates and it should update there. ;-)
