Question / Help OBS makes the sims 4 laggy - how to fix this?

I used to have OBS (not sure which version) on my computer and used it to record the sims 4. I recently had to reinstall my operating system and therefore also OBS. I have no installed OBS 19 and managed to set it up to record the sims 4.

However, when having OBS open and going into the game, the game becomes really laggy and slow. I did not use to have this problem, and as mentioned before I am using the same machine. It is is a pretty good (gaming) laptop and I have 75% free disk space - a lot more than before reinstalling my computer, so that shouldn't be the issue.

Does anyone know how I can fix this so my game isn't laggy when recording? I've tried changing the downscale filter from lanczos to bilinear which helped quite a lot, but it is still slow compared to when OBS is not on, which is a problem I did not use to have. And since I want a good video quality, then I am not sure this is the best way to go around it.

Any advice on how to avoid this lagging would be greatly appreciated.

That log is only from a 3 second encode. Do a 5 minute or longer encode of high action video (not just standing around), and post that log file. You might as well update to the lastest OBS version while you're at it, and also make sure Windows 10 Game Mode is turned off.
