In case you wonder if it's worth the hassle to get a cable that connects to the external graphics card instead of the internal: Yes, it's worth the hassle.
Currently, you use your computer and play games as if no GTX 1050 Ti were installed at all. Currently, that card is not used at all. Using it would boost the graphics performance of your games tremendously. You would be able to turn the graphics settings way up and get graphics more beautiful. You would get much higher fps.
It's also possible, albeit not very likely, that you have a monitor that does not support the connector of your external graphics card. For example, it may be possible that you have a monitor with analog input, but the GTx 1050 TI does not have such an output. In this case, you will need a new monitor. If this is the case, you did something wrong in planning the purchase of PC and/or monitor.
