Question / Help Obs Lags but my game doesnt. RTX2070 super

i have been trying to figure out why cant my system record well with obs. i have tried so many settings from youtube but nothing works . i also have a rtx 2070 super and still lag ?
17-8700
16gb ram
only gaming in 1080p
ive also got 1gb speed so that shouldnt be the problem

i put game mode on and i also did simple output mode, indistinguishable quality, large file size. still lag when i look at the finished recorded video? should i post another log ?

Yes, you should post a log that includes that output session.

The usual remedy for "game runs well but OBS doesn't" is "frame cap your game". OBS needs GPU resources to run and running a game uncapped can prevent it from getting those resources.

Cap at an even multiple of usual refresh rates: 30, 60, 120. Running at 140 and capturing at 60 is going to lead to some weird repeated frames.

Are you sure the lag isn't in the playback itself?

Can you run a session longer than just a minute or so?

I don't see any significant frame drop in this log.

yeah so once i finish recording, i check the video out and it will stutter for a few and then look perfect for a good 3 seconds then goes back to skipping. i will record a longer session.

Not seeing any frame drop during recording there. There is a small discrepancy between frames drawn and frames output, but this is no larger for a longer session, so I don't think that's it.

just downloaded it. seems to have fixed the problems with playback lag. video color seems much darker though. i will give this a try for a couple days and if all checks out then were good. thank you for helping me through this stupid questions. i will post again if i have any other questions!
