OBS keeps crashing/closing itself while streaming PS5 gameplay

Hello everyone,

I’ve been having repeated OBS crashes while streaming PS5 gameplay through a capture card, and I’m running out of ideas.

The issue:
  • OBS suddenly closes itself completely during stream
  • no freeze, no warning popup
  • the application just disappears
  • it usually happens around 20–30 minutes into streaming
I already tried several adjustments that were suggested previously, but the crashes still happen.

My setup:
  • PS5 → capture card → laptop
  • Laptop: HP Pavilion 14-ec0xxx
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U
  • GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics (integrated)
Current OBS settings:
  • Output Resolution: 1920x1080
  • FPS: 60
  • Bitrate: 6000 kbps
  • Encoder: x264 (veryfast)
  • Source: Video Capture Device (capture card from PS5)
Things I already changed/tested:
  • Set OBS to “High Performance” GPU in Windows Graphics Settings
  • Allowed OBS through Windows Defender Firewall
  • Changed encoder to x264 veryfast
  • Running OBS as administrator
  • No heavy browser tabs opened during stream
  • Mostly using only the capture card source
At this point I’m not sure whether the issue comes from:
  • OBS itself
  • AMD driver instability
  • capture card compatibility
  • or hardware limitation on my laptop
Crash report/log:

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
