OBS issues

Hey guys im new here. Having issues with my OBS all my cords are plugged in the right sockets and i get picture on my tv but its not ooppin up on my obs when i add the video capture device.

Please help if you have any info

What are you trying to capture? from a video capture device? does that work outside of OBS? fix that first (view content from source in native OS viewer, and only after that is working check inside of OBS studio?
Are you trying to capture digital rights managed content (ie streaming TV/movies, or similar)?

Im trying to stream my gaming to twitch through OBS the capture device works outside of OBS yes but once everything is connected I get a black screen
