Question / Help OBS is not recording my Desktop Audio

I have used this software before and it worked absolutely fine but then when I put my files that I recorded after the update it wouldn't allow me to use mp3s, fixed that by going to aacs instead but now this is happening and I have no idea how to fix it

What media player are you checking your recordings with?

Also, you should NOT be using mp3 audio anymore.

I am using Sony new Vegas the trial version to check my recording and also when I hit record I can see that the desktop volume does not move at all

Use VLC to check your recordings. Vegas is actually pretty terrible at media format support.

That's not a type of recording right? That's a software

VLC is a media player with arguably one of the best selections of supported media formats out there (just about everything).

Vegas is known to be far more restrictive in what it supports.

Just try playing your recordings in vlc already. It's not a recording software.

so downloaded VLC and put in the clip and it still didn't work, any other advice you can give to me on how to help with my problem
