Question / Help OBS is disabling all audio on my laptop

So I just started a Youtube channel and was excited to record my first video. As I opened up the sgame I was going to record, I got an error message about my audio not working... I checked my audio level on my laptop, but no sound came from any application on my laptop! I closed OBS and was going to give up, but then it worked... I figured out that when OBS is open, no audio on my laptop worked at all!

Does anyone know how to fix this? If so, I will greatly appreciate it!

Windows sound control panel, communications tab.
set it to "Do nothing"

oh I forgot to say that I'm doing this on Windows 7

And Harold, I just tried that, and it did nothing
