OBS into zoom sounds like water

Tried everything from voicemeter with virtual cables A & B to NDI tools and virtual cameras but everything sounds like mushy water when I listen in zoom from another computer.

I tried to output to focusrite 18i20 and use that as a neutral source but still the same quality. I can stream from my multiple cameras to youtube but I just can't get into zoom with quality audio. Perhaps I have conflicting audio drivers now?

I'm at the point I would pay for someone to screen share.

... you're not alone. Tried most of your ways to get audio into Zoom on my own: it does not work as we hope it should. It was a "Yea - that's what I was waiting for" when they released the version with "virtual cam". But after hours like you trying and failing I quit it disillusioned. I gave up any more try-and-fail - attempts. I think the only solution will be to develop "virtual camera" further to include audio directly into that virtual camera. Every walk-around will be unsatisfying.

Maybe some developer will handle this task in the near future - would be worth a donation for me.

Since no one else is having these problems it must be specific to our computer set up. I plan to try this solution when I get back to it.

How to Fix the Bad Muffled Audio Issue in OBS on Windows (May, 2020)
  1. Open your Control Panel and go to the Hardware and Sound section.
  2. In this Sound section, click the Manage Audio Devices option. That will open a new window.
  3. In the Playback tab, select the Speakers/Headphones audio device and then click the Properties button. *If you are experiencing the same issue, this will be your default and it will be the system audio
  4. In the Speakers/Headphones window, click the Advanced tab.
  5. Here you can find the Signal Enhancement option (near the bottom) which “allows extra signal processing by the audio device”.
  6. Un-check that and that’s all you need to do.
