OBS installer vs OBS Portable (ZIP)

Hi all

I am using Windows 10 Home Edition, and recently installed OBS Studio.

I used the Installer version, and it works very well.

Like I wrote, I used the installer option,
but I am curious to ask: would I lose anything (in terms of features, etc) If I instead use the Portable (ZIP) version?

Thank you

You will lose the virtual camera feature unless you run the virtualcam-install.bat manually, be aware that after doing this you cannot move the portable install without breaking the virtual camera functionality. Otherwise the versions are identical in functions, only differing in where they store user data.

Hi R1CH

Thank you very much for your reply.

So that's the only difference?
Definitely can live with that.. (and it's nice that it can be overcome via the .BAT file - thanks for the useful tip)

BTW, does OBS has its own File Extensions or File Associations?
This is smething that is also affected by Installer vs Portable versions of programs..
