Question / Help OBS - How to adjust screens if games keep minimizing

Hello All,

My first scene is my desktop (monitor view), web cam (video capture) and a background (image).

When my desktop picks up CS:GO my monitor view shrinks and doesn't fit in my layout in OBS Studio. When I minimize CS:GO it disappears on my second monitor and I can't adjust the size in OBS Studio.. it just shows my desktop image. I know if I put it in windowed mode I could adjust it but I don't like to play in window mode which is why I am having these issues.

Another thing I was messing around with was Game Capture for CS:GO. That works fine but now I have 2X CS:GO's on my main Scene and Game Capture shows up a few seconds later.

How do I adjust my CS screen if it keeps minimizing?

If your goal is to just capture the game, remove the display capture source, and leave only the game capture. Then click the game capture source, and press ctrl+f to fit it to the preview screen.

Well, I have 2 other screens for fullscreen CS and H1Z1 (Both of these are fullscreen and works fine)..

The only issue I have is my scene 1 which is like my waiting area...

So scene 1 captures my desktop and when i go into CS or H1 my desktop turns into the game but its shrink and messed up

It's not the same resolution as my desktop so I think the game shrink and dont fit my layout but when I minimize the games disappear and I can't adjust the size.

Can you post a log? Also, do you have any video samples that show what's going on? I'm not sure I understand how your sources are changing sizes. That doesn't seem right, as OBS doesn't really do that.

Ah, yes, this is why I said to click the game capture source and press ctrl+f. This will cause it to fit the current preview size, and fill the screen (regardless if you are alt+tabbed or not).

The thing is my scene 1 desktop capture is NOT full screen - I have my desktop in like a 8x10 window which is like not even half of my screen

Let me use Dr. Disrepect as an example... see attached file

This is like my scene 1 - Where his desktop is works fine but once I load into a game the desktop screen for my games shrink to like half of that and doesnt fit.

If you click on the source in your sources list, the red box should show up for you to move and position, regardless if the game itself is being shown in it.

I get exactly what you are saying and it does show the red box as the window capture but when I minimize the game red box goes away and it shows the desktop image (which fits perfectly)

Like I said, when I minimize the red box changes to desktop and I can't move anything

Hmm... The only thing I can think of that might cause that is if your Game Capture source isn't at the top of your sources list. Try moving it to the top of the sources list and see if that helps!
