Hey all,
I've recently started recording a few Far Cry 5 videos on my YouTube channel, but OBS has been holding me back from recording more. When I play Far Cry 5, I can a solid frame rate over 60FPS on High to Ultra settings on 1080p. However, when I start recording using OBS, my frame rate jumps down to 20 - 30 FPS and I have frequent lag spikes making it almost impossible to record. That is also when the in game graphics settings are reduced to the minimum.
Now, I don't why I have this specific problem just with Far Cry 5, almost every other game I've tried recording works perfectly fine, and I have in my opinion a somewhat beefy PC setup. Here are my PC specs:
CPU: Intel i5 6600K 3.5GHz Processor
GPU: ASUS Dual GTX 1070 (not overclocked)
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H170-GAMING 3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 RAM (2x8GB)
OS: Windows 10
Storage: Main storage on OS is Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD
(I have other HDDS etc, that I can't remember the names of etc)
Overall, it seems like my PC should handle this perfectly fine, but for some reason it just doesn't want to work. If you have any recommendations, I'd highly appreciate your feedback.
