Bug Report OBS has crashed during stream

It used to do this all the time and told me to disable CRS, which I did. And then it worked smoothly for a while but then when I started streaming again it would keep crashing and send this error message. I am running Windows 8 on a lenovo G780 laptop. This crash only occurs when I'm streaming while I have a game running. Other times, if I'm just streaming my desktop, it seems to be fine but I haven't really fiddled around with it too much

Looks like a crash in your integrated GPU driver. Check your laptop's manufacturer website for driver updates.

When you say you disabled "CRS" what do you mean? What is CRS?

These crashes sometimes happen on certain laptops -- it's because the capturing isn't all that common and probably not something they debugged or have looked at with their drivers I believe -- if I recall correct, switching adapters can help with the problem, what adapter is OBS running on? Intel or the other?

window capture works, but when I set it to capture monitor, it won't work; it just shows a black screen. I do not have a second monitor plugged in, and when I'm streaming my gaming, if I do windowed mode, I have to tab out and switch the window to my current window which can be a bother. Is there a way to set it to "active window"?

Yea, monitor capture won't work on that GPU - you may have to use compatibility mode in its properties to capture it. Actually, now that you mention it, monitor capture is probably what was causing your crash anyway, there's some sort of driver bug with it on those specific laptops, as you're not the only one who has reported this problem while using monitor capture. And it's always with monitor capture as well. Pretty certain at this point that it's some sort of driver bug.

Active window is something it needs, I agree. Actually, hm. "Always use active window" would be really nice for window capture, thank you for suggesting it, I hadn't thought of that before, and it should be easier than most to implement. Hm. I'll see what I can do about adding that in the future.

Other than that you might have to live without monitor capture, and use window/game capture for your stuff best you can. Laptops just generally have more capturing issues than desktops because of their two GPUs for power saving and performance. It really screws with capturing applications and can mess up efficiency. Not really anyone's fault, just sort of clashing designs.
