Bug Report OBS hard locks every few hours

My OBS will hard lock every few hours which makes my Twitch stream also freeze. The only way to fix this is to hard reset OBS and restart, this will happen multiple times in a long session.

I have attached a log.

This is troublesome as it means my stream goes offline and I lose viewers every time.

Any help?

How many Elgato capture do you have? Is it a model (HD60-S HD60 Pro) with instant game view?

USB 2.0 capture cards use up a lot of CPU at 1080p, heavy compression over a slow USB 2.0 speed.

Each USB 2.0 controller have a limited shared bandwidth that aren't allowing all captures set to 1080p to work all at once. You can try to reduce webcam resolution to 1280x720 or 640x360.

Hey Sam,

Thanks for the reply.

I tried what you said and it still crashes every few hours without fail.

I really don't know what else to try.

Thanks

Hey guys,

Still having this issue, my stream will hard lock every 4 ish hours without fail and its becoming rather boring now.

I'm about to buy Xsplit lifetime.

Heres my latest log file.

Like I said if I stream for say 8 hours, 100% I will hard lock 2 times at least.

Hard locks can only be caused by faulty drivers (though Windows usually catches these and blue screens instead) or hardware such as the CPU freezing due to heat / overclocking or other faulty hardware components. If OBS is making your system freeze, xsplit will likely have the same issue. You need to find out what's wrong with your system before trying hardware-intensive video software.

Hey,

It's only OBS that locks up, sometimes the webcam still works but the program is not responsive.

My CPU is water-cooled and currently has no overclocks.

I have never had a blue screen on the stream PC, and everything else works flawlessly apart from this one thing with OBS.

Not sure what else I can do.
