Question / Help OBS Giving horrid performance compared to shadowplay, why?

I'm not trying to put OBS down or anything, I'd prefer to use OBS because of its flexibility...

However, for whatever reason, OBS impacts my performance so much more than shadowplay.

I am using the Nvidia encoder and everything, the log is attached, if anybody could help me figure out why its performance is so much worse I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Shadowplay uses (at least, according to early marketing gumpf for it) dedicated hardware in the graphics card - it has a lower performance penalty because it's basically got its own processor to run on.

Which is why my older Fermi card can't use it. :(

Lower your C920 resolution to 1280x720. If that doesn't resolve the issue please post a complete log file.

I have it set to that. I guess OBS just isn't as optimized towards using it?
Could finally start using Shadowplay myself today. And yeah OBS isn't even remotely close to it.
While SP was just taking around 5FPS OBS+NVENC took bombing 20FPS if not even more.

My guess would be that it has something to do with the way Shadowplay uses NVENC that OBS might not be able to.
Remember how SP requires you to run games in fullscreen? Or how OpenGL only works while using desktop capture.

Those restrictions are all gone so I'm guessing OBS is using it far simplier to avoid those or not optimized enough.

Here is a new log, sorry for the shitty log in the OP.

the quality is simply horrible, it's choppy, there's screen tearing. But when I use shadowplay with the exact same quality/framerate it's entirely fine.
