Question / Help OBS Game Capture only shows black screen, please help.

OBS Game Capture doesn't record ANYTHING outside the properties menu. No one to my knowledge has had this problem, at least fixed.
I could record before the latest update, now it f###ed up. I personally haven't done ANYTHING to the software (settings,tasks,ect), and I can't do anything with game capture, again, outside of properties.

Okay... I am not clear on what you mean by "outside the properties" menu. The log I see shows you capturing Half-Life 2, which I believe should work, as far as I know, but also Firefox, which I'm not sure of.

Can you provide more detail about what you mean by "outside of properties"?

The log seems to show a successful capture of hl2.exe:

14:06:18.923: [game-capture: 'Game Capture'] attempting to hook process: hl2.exe
14:06:18.995: [game-capture: 'Game Capture'] d3d9 shared texture capture successful

Does that not actually produce an image? Is hl2.exe running on the same GPU as OBS-- the discrete Nvidia GPU?

I mean when you put a game capture, it shows you a window of the game capture properties:

At first, it shows this (normal), then if you open the game and minimize it again, it shows what was last on the screen (again, normal for the source engine), and after pressing [ OK ] nothing happens. It spits ya back at the last screen, as if you did nothing. It records everything else (window capture, all the noise) but black screen for game capture.

Are you expecting a game capture tagged to a specific window to maintain its connection when the window is minimized?

No, I mean I press record, play the game, and stop recording, and get a black voice over with the game's sound.(normal, cuz the sound is recorded independently, I guess you know that).

Edit: also, in the prop. menu(from last post), it shows the last frame of the game before minimizing.

Yes, that's what I mean... at what point in this process are you minimizing? Do you mean you're minimizing the game, or minimizing OBS?

I am minimizing the game, start record, play the game un-minimized, minimize it again and stop recording.

Don't minimize your game before starting a recording. That's what hotkeys are for.
