Hey man,

Im having literally the same exact problem. It started happening all by itself like a week or so ago, and what will happen is that Ill click Start Streaming and for a couple of seconds/minute the stream will be fine, then the preview window will freeze and my stream goes offline and if I click Stop Streaming It'll stay stuck on Stopping.... then I have to use Task Manager to end its process.

Do you have Windows 10? If so someone I think found an answer to your problem here:

Everyone here offering help is a volunteer. We don't always know the answer, and we aren't always available, but we'll try our best to help in threads where we think we can help.

If you're experiencing issues with Windows 10, you may want to read the PSA post.

That said, your log file is incomplete, as it doesn't show a streaming attempt, and therefore doesn't show any of the errors you've described. To get a complete log file:
  1. Open the game which causes you to see the issue that you've described.
  2. Open OBS Studio.
  3. Start streaming.
  4. Wait 30-60 seconds.
  5. Stop streaming.
  6. Upload the current log file via the built-in upload feature (Help Menu > Log Files > Upload Current Log file) or upload the file here.

Still no streaming attempt. Logs are automatically created every time OBS Studio is opened. Just create a new log and upload the current log file as I've described above.

Hey folks,

I've been experiencing the same issue as well for the past 3 days. OBS Studio freezes in an odd manner where it's not in a "not responding" way, but the preview is paused and switching scenes does nothing. The stream is offline though OBS thinks it's still going - the Stop Streaming button does nothing.

Here is my log. I thought this was caused by the latest OBS version and rolled back, but it hasn't helped.

Streamed 8 hours straight without any freezing by having the preview screen disabled on start
