OBS freezes after closing game

Hi there, I hope you can help me!

Since I got a new PC, I have the following problem that is driving me crazy:

My OBS stops transmission to Twitch and freezes 95 % of the time after closing a game (e.g. Fortnite, Valheim).

The process is always the same: In my game scene (game capture mode) I quit the game and change the scene (e. g. full cam), after 3-5 seconds the transmission stops and OBS freezes. For my viewers, it looks like my internet connection is down, there is a short buffer animation, and then the stream is offline.

I have already followed all the usual tips I could find on google. Apart from streamelements, no plugin is installed. It can't be SE, as the same error happened when I didn't have SE (I switched from streamlabs to SE in the hope of fixing the error).

Anyone?

Yesterday I tried to change the scene without closing the game, it works.

So OBS "only" crashes when I close the game (Game Capture Mode). On reddit I found 3 more people who recently described the same problem, but no solution.

BTW, I can't post a crash report because no report is created despite the freeze.

Start turning HAGS off as described on the analyzer:

You don't need at all SE plugin unless you want the to use a custom name bot on your twitch channel, but then you may face issues in OBS due to this plugin.
Uninstall it and then remove the remaining files in %apdata%\obs-studio\ (the uninstaller don't remove this) and then uninstall OBS and reinstall it to fully remove the plugin. Yes.

Okay, I will test today without HAGs.

Regarding SE: As I said, the error cannot be triggered by SE, since the exact same error also occurred without having SE installed.

Hey there,
I am facing the exact same issue, also with a new PC... It's been a month since the last message, did you find a solution ?

I am also having the same Issue with simple games like Minecraft and some other ones like Rainbow Six and Ready or Not. I was doing a 24 Hour Stream but it crashed around 4-5 times just trying to change the game.

I have had my PC for years, but I have been upgrading it over the years, everything up to date, tried all the normal solutions and the one posted on this forum with no luck.

Any updates?
